Another amazing Sports Day at Halam School, with congratulations to Ruby housegroup, who won the cup this year. Great races, great sportsmanship and a great PTFA who did a suburb job of organising the Summer fair afterwards.
Year 6 visited St. Michael and the Archangel church and the Time Travelling Team for a wonderful session. We learnt about the historical importance of the font, the stained-glass window, the lectern, the altar and the organ. Some of us even had a go at playing a tune!

We attended the Royal Nottingham Concert Hall to see the famous orchestra. We also had Helen (a bassoonist) come in to school to do a workshop too.

Mrs Sanderson, from The Minster School, came to visit Y6 children this morning to talk about our Transition Day in July, and to tell us lots of information about what secondary school is like.
As part of our RE curriculum and our History topic (World War 2), we visited the Holocaust museum in Laxton. We began with a tour of The Journey exhibition led by an educator. We were taken through a series of rooms, each designed to authentically represent a time period in Nazi Germany between 1933 and 1938 and a stage in a child’s personal journey, then we were able to learn about specific survivor's stories. At the end, we all placed a stone on the memorial.
We are thrilled with our new Trim Trail on the school field.
Our long awaited Y6 hoodies arrived today. We are getting ready to go on residential....
